Following the endorsement of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenures (VGGT) of Land, Fisheries and Forests by the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) in May 2012, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has embarked on global, regional and national level efforts to support their implementation.

In January 2013, FAO, in collaboration with the Forest Sector Support Department (FSSD) of the Government of Uganda, implemented a training and policy dialogue to improve understanding of the principles, key issues and processes to strengthen forest tenure systems. This project is a follow-up to the outcomes of the training and policy dialogue all of which are aimed at strengthening governance of tenure in the forest sector

An advertisement for the position of Oxfam International climate change advocacy and policy lead.

http://www.oxfamnovib.nl/Pub/ jobs/jobs-Senior-Climate- Change-Advocacy-and-Policy- Lead.html

The candidate will play a critical role in co-coordinating Oxfam’s international climate change policy advocacy work in the run-up to the Paris COP, with scope to focus primarily on UNFCCC or also on our wider food and climate justice advocacy agenda (from work on resilience at the national level, to advocacy on the climate policies of the world’s biggest food and beverage companies).

The position is part of a programme of work managed by Oxfam Novib, but will be line-managed by the Oxfam International secretariat. While the preference is for the position to be located in the Hague, the location is certainly negotiable depending on the candidate.

The Biodiversity and Protected Area Management Programme (BIOPAMA) is an EU-funded project through the 10th European Development Fund  that is aimed at improving the long-term conservation of biodiversity in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific Islands region and enhancing the capacity of existing institutions and networks involved  in biodiversity conservation and protected area management. BIOPAMA has been implemented since March 2012 in close collaboration between the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (EC-JRC) and the German Agency for International Collaboration (GIZ).
